Whereas a sauna is predominantly a dry heat at a high temperature, a steam bath is maintained at a lower temperature but at almost 100% humidity. The bather is enveloped and caressed by thick clouds of steam that swirl around the steam room or steam shower and the sauna steam generator is the device that produces that steam.
